Well, I seem to have a working system now!

I did try that package earlier, and ran into problems. Maybe they were
self inflicted, because installing it again to double check, it worked.
I've now been running for about 90 minutes with miscellaneous mail
(including some spam) seemingly processed correctly and no crashes in
the log.

Andrew Lewis kindly suggested this earlier in the thread, although I was
expecting problems because of his reference to the patch to remove
luajit. And there seem to be all kinds of issues around luajit for ARM
64. But the 3.4-1 version appears to be running OK.

Just for the record, I did try to incorporate the patch by editing
debian/files after the git reset step in your procedure and simply
removing arm64 from the list. Unfortunately, that somehow broke the
build, not sure why.

It seems that this thread has repeated stuff raised earlier -
unfortunately, search engines didn't seem to find the useful bits and I
hadn't kept enough information. This time I've recorded some key points
in the wiki that I'm using for reminders to myself of how to do useful
things. And I've recorded your suggestion of running in a container in
case I get stuck in future and want to try that approach.

Thanks, Martin
