As the operator of a very small mailserver, I find it's much easier to 
leave the running of spamtraps up to people who are highly skilled at 
it.
Spamhaus, junkemailfilter.com etc.  Those RBL services make it "easy" to 
know if you're getting spam or not.  Oh DCC is a good one too.

I found setting those all up and I get pretty much 0 spam in any inbox.
