I am making a guess here.

Could it be that it actually needs it to be set explicitly.

"rewrite subject" =  null;

Maybe have to set in actions.conf.

This is what I have in one of the setups.

--- actions.conf -----
reject = 15;
add_header = null;
greylist = 4;
rewrite_subject = 5;
--- end --------------

Also note, the webui takes precedence. So what is set there overrides 
the rest.

One more thing. I am not an expert. Might be a good idea to wait for 
suggestions.
